Apple has already started seeding iOS 8.1 beta to developers, but now we get an idea when regular users will be getting to try it. The latest version of iOS will come with Apple Pay and will reportedly be ready for prime time on October 20.

In addition to Apple Pay, iOS 8.1 will bring some other cool new features. Apple has listened to complaints regarding the removal of the Camera Roll section from the Photos app and with the latest iOS release, it’s bringing it back. The Recently Added section provided just a 30-day history of your photos, but with Camera roll back, you’ll get your full history.

The iOS 8.1 release will give you the option to check out the permissions that any third-party app gets. A dedicated page in Setting will show which app gets access to what. You can toggle them on and off, too.

Also from the Settings menu, you can turn off dictation in the keyboard. Visually, there’s a change in the Widget list, albeit a subtle one. The icons of the widgets are now larger than before allowing for more visual impact. Lastly, there’s a new iBooks icon.
